LIGHTEST BATTERY

FASTEST RE-FUELLING - ONE MINUTE

LOWEST ELECTRIC COSTS - NO DEMAND CHARGES

LOWEST INFRASTRUCTURE COSTS: ONE BS&CS FOR 24 BUSES

Ebus Battery Swap & Charging Station (BS&CS)

Battery swapping and off-bus charging revolutionizes electric bus operations:

Using removable batteries weighing only 2,000 pounds, continuous operation of your electric buses becomes possible, since a battery swap can be done automatically in as little as a minute. That's why it's called "HOT-SWAPPING".

There are two batteries per bus, one on the roof of the bus, the other being charged in the automated Battery Swap & Charging Station (BS&CS). About every four hours the batteries are swapped (hot-swapped), an operation taking as little as a minute.

The batteries are designed to be easily removable and swappable. The electrical connections on top of the bus and on the BS&CS are the same and there are locating cones for a smooth exchange.

A battery weighing only 2,000 pounds moves the bus 60 miles and can be HOT-SWAPPED in one minute! WOW!

After the swap, the depleted battery now on the BS&CS is charged slowly, using the available time before the next swap. The slow charging prolongs the battery life and completely avoids utility demand charges.

A 2,000 pound battery obviously causes less wear and tear to streets and bridges than heavier ones do. There are bus batteries weighing 10,000 pounds – imagine the damage of that excess weight to our infrastructure. That’s a difference of 8,000 pounds, the weight of 53 bus riders!

By physically and financially separating the batteries and the BS&CS from the bus, leasing becomes an attractive option. In most cases the fuel savings and reduced maintenance costs will offset the leasing expense.

The BS&CS accommodates batteries for up to 24 buses, making it much more cost-effective for larger electric bus fleets than using fast-charging! It would take at least FOUR fast-charge stations to support that many buses.

For electric transit buses to take over, rely on Ebus BS&CS for unlimited energy.
